Project/Program Overview:
The supply chain management teams are engaged in every facet of the business process - they are responsible for planning, purchasing, manufacturing support, logistics, storage, distribution and customer service. In short, supply chain management is the core that connects the different parts of the organization. They have the focus on facilitation and collaboration because they are in a unique position to help other functions execute their strategies.

**Job Description**:
We are currently hiring for a Procurement Manager to lead our teams through the execution of a unified Supply Chain Strategy.(SCM) You will oversee activities necessary to successfully support the material and service procurement requirements of internal customers, primarily manufacturing.Other key areas will be identifying risk, assess impact, and develop and communicate mitigation strategies while developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders and colleagues. You will also be responsible for:

- Provides focal review of SCM advanced planning and consolidation of forecast from revenue-down and proposal/project activity upward.
- Analytical approach to understanding trends to anticipate future opportunity and or risk, using key metrics and data.
- Leading resolution of supplier performance problems, including crisis management, with regard to Quality, Delivery and Cost.
- Ability to conceptualize complex issues and translate them to executable steps for quick resolution.
- Ensures adequate communication of requirements, forecasts, proposal status, project deliverables, acquisition strategies, vendor development, risk mitigation efforts and any other mission critical supply-side requirements.
- Ensures adequate communication of SCM activities, strategies, progress and priorities to facilitate alignment of efforts, understanding and accountabilities.
- Transmits potential short term and long term new vendor identification information to SCM teams to ensure full due diligence and qualification efforts occur prior to design-in or commercial commitments.
- Bridges the organizations to ensure accurate target prices are set, actual historical values utilized in bids and ongoing improvements measured.
- Building effective working relationships with senior management, internal customers, external customers, and strategic suppliers.
- Ensures intergroup gaps are closed and that SCM processes are optimized and mapped according to business unit strategies and businesses.
- Participates in selected Vendor evaluations, supply chain design and integration,
- IRB/SME/Aboriginal business obligation strategies.
- Supports the identification, benchmarking and development of key suppliers.
- Major participant in annual SCM strategic planning exercise as the “voice of the internal customer” to ensure correct priorities are established.
- Developing and maintaining supplier performance management and supplier qualification systems in accordance with ISO and AS9100 requirements.
- Strict adherence to ISO/AS9100 purchasing requirements as well as all laws (procurement, contract, export, etc.) and corporate policies.

Basic Qualifications:
Education & Experience:

- University degree (Business Administration, Engineering or Accounting)
- PMI, CPIM and/or CPP Certification
- 10-15 years experience in a high technology or manufacturing environment (Defense or government considered an asset)
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) ERP (Enterprise Resource Management)
- Program/Project Management experience with demonstrated history of meeting committed timelines
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Very customer focused
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
