WestJet is seeking an Analyst, Cargo Business Intelligence to join our team in either **Calgary**, **Vancouver**, or **Toronto**. This individual can exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.

The Analyst, Cargo Business Intelligence will provide strategic support, business intelligence analytics and reporting solutions for the WestJet Cargo department. Transforming data into meaningful information is an art form that requires the combination of technical skills and business acumen. The Analyst Cargo Business Intelligence approaches information from the perspective of the business user, creating and developing accurate and reliable solutions that meet the tactical and strategic needs of the Cargo Commercial, and Operations teams.

The Analyst, Cargo Analytics continues to evolve their data and reporting through new tools and methods, in addition to overcoming current day-to-day inefficiencies by automating routine tasks. Through continuous improvement activities, the Analyst will be responsible for identifying high level trends with which the Cargo team can act upon to maximize revenue and operational efficiencies as well as reduce cost.

**Key deliverables include**:

- Support the development of Cargo strategy, partnerships and tactical decision through strategic analysis and data modelling
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis utilizing business intelligence tools such as MS Office Suite, Python or R and present findings to management and stakeholders
- Design and develop business intelligence dashboard using Power BI or Tableau
- Provide commercial and business insight through manipulation of elements from multiple sources using SQL queries and other data extraction techniques
- Develop high-impact presentations for internal and external parties
- Provide analytical support to freighter network development and planning
- Design, build and structure data sets, data flows and reporting in the context of a new system implementation
- Develop and perform analysis to understand all components of WestJet Cargo's business and make decisions and provide guidance to meeting/exceed revenue targets, manage costs and achieve operational excellence
- Manage the Cargo dataset in order to ensure integrity of the data, as well as appropriate access to the data, in order to facilitate all reporting and analytics
- Understand and stay current on the economic environment in which the business operates with the goal of assisting in strategic decision making to manage and adapt to the changing environment
- Develop adhoc reporting for support initiatives for various stakeholders and support the team in with analysis and data modeling as necessary
- Develop and maintain internal KPI reporting as well as external Service Level Agreement reporting
- Work with mínimal supervision, in cross-functional teams interacting daily across the organization at all levels, often at senior levels (Director, VP)
- Work closely with, and support, internal and external stakeholder including Cargo Sales and Ops, IT, Finance, Software providers, Network planning in order to drive efficiencies and find data and analytical solutions

**Experience and qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Math/Economics/Business/Analytics/Statistics/Finance or other
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with large data warehouse and business intelligence tools such as Microsoft SQL, Oracle SQL, Excel VBA, Power BI, Tableau
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a business analyst role incorporating decision making and providing guidance on revenue impacting decisions
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, and other advanced data analysis tools) and PowerPoint
- Skilled in the ability to collect, integrate, and analyze large volumes of quantitative information
- Proven track record of synthesizing qualitative and quantitative analyses into clear, concise, and insightful reports and presentation materials
- Proven track record of researching and analyzing complex issues
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, problem solving, and teamwork skills
- Self-starter, analytical and independent thinker, un-intimidated by complex analytics and large data sets
- Able to manage own time effectively with the ability to multitask in a time sensitive environment
- Possesses a strong work ethic and is self-directed, organized, and resource
