**PURPOSE**

The Pastry Chef is a frontline, team leader that has the experience and training allowing them to work independently. The Pastry Chef is able to supply guidance and encouragement to those in a less senior position. They use proper preparation techniques to prepare adequate quantities for the successful execution of daily service. In charge of all aspects of pastry production, the pastry chef also assists with banquet production as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 5 years industry experience and at minimum 3 years in pastry kitchen.
- 3 years’ experience in a fine dining kitchen
- Understanding of proper preparation techniques and adequate quantities
- Formal culinary education an asset
- Must supply own knives and have excellent knife handling skills
- Level 1 Food Safe
- First aid an asset
- Flexible with assigned tasks
- Physically fit and energetic
- Must be personable and able to multi task while under extreme pressure and maintain composure
- Must be creative and passionate about the culinary arts with the ability to learn and adapt new techniques and styles as instructed
- Must be available for shift work.
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Outgoing, friendly and positive
