**About the Role**:
**Reporting**

The Component Shop Manager reports directly to the Director of Avionics, Canada.

**Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities**
- Plan, organize, and control Component Shop resources and workload.
- Responsible for the financial results of the shop(s).
- Responsible to ensure internal related departments are supported.
- Analyze, modify, and modernize work methods to ensure efficient and timely work priorities are met.
- Manage and review the configuration, change, technical standards and procedures of parts to ensure continued advantage of the business.
- Work with customers and vendors to ensure overall program success that includes repair contracts, parts purchasing, obsolescence, reliability, product improvements, and quality.
- Review repairs to determine long-term product support including in-house support and PMA/PDA.
- Provide guidance and/or direction to the Avmax Spares divisions, including ASUS and ASEAL, to ensure cost efficient repairs are carried out to benefit Avmax.
- Respond to internal and external customer needs. Prepare and authorize customer quotes.
- Ensure safety of the shop personnel as they complete the required tasks.
- Create and promote a culture of safety. Ensure personnel are trained and adhere to appropriate safety procedures and processes.
- Understand and be aware of hazardous waste disposal methodologies.
- Support, mentor, and performance manage the team with the help of the Director and Human Resources. Complete performance review for direct reports.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Demonstrated capability in managing a team; able to motivate, lead, and mentor others.
- Must be computer literate; strong Microsoft Office skills required, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

**Experience**
- Minimum 5 years of experience within the aerospace/aviation industry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in related field in a supervisory or management role.
