**Team Lead, Settlement Programs**
**Full-Time, Permanent**

Collingwood Neighbourhood House’s mandate is to promote the well-being of the Renfrew-Collingwood community by providing leadership and working collaboratively with individuals, families, agencies and other groups to develop and support inclusive, innovative, sustainable initiatives and services that respond to the community’s social, educational, economic, health, cultural and recreational needs.

**JOB OVERVIEW**
This is a management position. The Team Lead, Settlement Programs provide planning, oversight and support for all
CNH Settlement programming including but not limited to settlement case management, youth settlement, women’s leadership, LINC, LINC childcare, digital literacy and any cross departmental work. This role provides strategic direction to ensure that all programs are working together effectively, as well as leading development of new programming, directing day to day work and leading budgeting, evaluation and reporting. This also includes human resource management, financial management, program development, public relations and marketing, committee support. The
Team Lead will liaise with the Community Development team to develop ways for newcomers to become engaged and involved with the neighbourhood house and the community of Renfrew-Collingwood.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Human Resource Management**
- To hire/recruit, supervise and provide professional development and performance evaluation for a team consisting of managers, bargaining unit employees, contractors, practicum students and volunteers.
- To implement human resources policy and procedures including staff recognition and appreciation, performance evaluations, discipline and discharge.
- Responsible for maintaining personnel files and determining when action needs to be taken.
- Encourage and develop a team-based approach to working with newcomers and work as part of the Community Services Department Team.

**Financial Management and Fundraising**
- To monitor program finances, maintain financial records, and ensure budget implementation.
- In conjunction with the Community Services Director to identify resources, develop funding proposal, contract/funding negotiations and coordinate all program fundraising activities.

**Program Development**
- Work in conjunction with the staff team and the Community Services Director to conduct ongoing needs assessment and evaluation of existing programs.
- Provide quality program planning, implementation and evaluation by ensuring capital, human, financial and communication resources are sufficient.
- To implement program enhancement and development objectives established in conjunction with the committee.

**Community Services Development**
- To participate in the development of the community and client participation mechanisms to ensure services address changing needs of Renfrew-Collingwood.
- To liaise, cooperate and collaborate with community agencies and residents in the identification, provision and coordination of Settlement Services in the Renfrew-Collingwood.

**Public Relations and Marketing**
- In conjunction with the CNH Communications Committee, to publicize CNH, it’s settlement programs and services and opportunities for engaging in activities or initiatives that support immigrant community engagement and the needs of the Renfrew-Collingwood community groups, funders and individuals.

**Committee/Team Support**
- To participate in program committee meetings as required and provide research information to assist the committee to set priorities and plan programs.
- Responsible for preparing appropriate strike and/or essential services plans.
- Responsible for reviewing and commenting upon union bargaining proposals during collective bargaining.
- Attend and participate in Management Team meetings.
- Attend and participate in Staff Team meetings.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Strong understanding of settlement and adaptation issues, needs of a multicultural/intercultural community, resources, and programs.
- Undergraduate degree in related field or a combination of education and work experience in program development, social work, education or family services.
- Human resource management experience.
- Ability to manage a budget of one million+ annually.
- Demonstrated interest, involvement and knowledge of community resources and programs.
- Proven ability in fundraising.
- Strong planning, research, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural/intercultural environment.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization.
