**Acute In-Patient Medicine**

**CLINICAL SERVICES**

**The Manager of In-Patient Medicine will be responsible for the following programs**:

- C3 and D3 inpatient units (53 medical beds and 12 complex continuing care beds)
- Palliative care program - (on C3 and hospital wide)

**Key Activities and Responsibilities**:

- Together with senior leaders, directors, managers and physicians, providing leadership to the inpatient medicine programs through active collaboration and inter-professional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate the delivery of safe high quality, patient-centered care to patients.
- Foster an environment that is collaborative, inter professional and accountable, partnering with patients and caregivers.
- Coordinate and be accountable for the day-to-day utilization of resources to achieve the service's goals.
- Facilitate seamless transitions of care.
- Provide leadership for operating initiatives, program goals and objectives to meet strategic directions in partnership with the Clinical and Medical Director of the program.
- Allocating, overseeing, and monitoring all physical, human and financial resources, and anticipating future changes that will affect service delivery.
- Providing leadership to create and maintain practice environments that support a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement in partnership with staff, patients, and families.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Master’s Degree with progressive leadership required and or an Undergraduate Degree in a regulated health profession with a suitable combination of progressive years of experience considered.
- Experience managing or leading a multi-disciplinary health care team. A minimum of three years' experience as a clinical manager is preferred.
- Proven change management skills combined with the ability to work with and through others
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Working knowledge of labour/management practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience adapting, implementing and facilitating change within others and within both a unionized and non-unionized environment.

Criminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check recent within six (6) months is a requirement

North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) is a unique health care organization with three primary roles: providing acute care services to North Bay and its surrounding communities, functioning as the district referral centre providing specialist services for smaller communities in the area, and it’s the specialized mental health service provider serving all of northeast Ontario.
