The Manager, Postal Security Operations protects the value of the Canada Post brand by directing investigations and advising on security requirements that mitigate risk, minimize exposure, prevent loss and ensure the integrity of the distribution channel.

**Responsibilities**:
Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Manager, Postal Security Operations.
- Creates and or participates in the development and implementation of preventive security programs, processes, procedures and strategies that provide for the protection of mail, employees’ and Corporate assets.
- Plans and monitors the implementation of national and local security related programs for the protection of employee’s, corporate assets and mail. Keeps all area clients and customers informed on security incidents and particular issues that impact on their operations and profitability.
- Participates in studies with key stakeholders to identify trends and resolve issues related to loss exposures from criminal activity. Supports decision making processes by providing effective and relevant statistical analysis and interpreting reports.
- Investigates and resolves reported offenses and security breaches. Prepares justification to proceed with the decision making model for arrest, prosecution and recommendations regarding disciplinary action.
- Completes physical and IT security related threat and risk assessments of assets in accordance with prescribed standards and guidelines identified.

- Manages the day to day security operations and resources including personnel, budget, and contracted security services.
- Promotes and ensures adherence to security related policies, practices and procedures. Provides leadership in the area of ‘Planning for Business Continuity” by providing advice and guidance to process owners on the protective, resiliency and recovery measures necessary to sustain operational security utilizing an all hazards approach.
- Ensures that adequate security safeguards are implemented and maintained within Corporate Retail Outlets and franchised offices within the area of responsibility.
- Provides direction to local Security and Investigation Services personnel by identifying significant customer accounts requiring ongoing interface, assigning personnel and developing processes which ensure efficient resolution to customer concerns.
- Provides leadership and function direction to local and regional S&IS staff.. Through coaching, succession planning, and professional development training, ensures a progressive development of management staff for Security and Investigation Services and other opportunities with Canada Post.
- Establishes and maintains an external network of professional contacts and relationships to keep informed of trends in security management, technological advancements, and loss prevention strategies.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- Completed post-secondary, and or relevant function experience.

**Experience**
- Minimum 3 years functional experience in Security.
- 2 or more years’ experience managing people.
- Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent team building and leadership skills and experience.
- Sound organizational, analytical, judgement and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset.
- Ability to attain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance and handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Business Intelligence skills an asset.
- Project management skills an asset.
- Professional security designations such as Certified Protection Professional, Physical Security Professional, Certified Fraud Examiner etc. an asset.
- Experience with planning, monitoring and analyzing daily incidents
- Experience developing, implementing and ensuring compliance to standard processes, tools and systems.
- Must hold a valid drivers license.
