**Job Summary**
**A Brief Overview**
Reporting to the Manager, Career Education and Professional Experience, the Professional Experience Coordinator contributes to the development and support of existing and new internship and professional experience programs for engineering students, including the Queen's University Internship Program (QUIP) and the Engineering Career Accelerator Program (ECAP). The incumbent is responsible for ensuring superior service and effective relationship building with students and program partners, and is responsible for tracking internship and professional experience data, maintaining detailed records, compiling results and preparing reports. The incumbent contributes to ensuring an excellent professional development experience for engineering students through the delivery of professional experience workshops, support for work integrated learning opportunities and exciting networking opportunities such as a speaker panel series featuring alumni and industry experts.
This position acts as a key point of contact for internship and professional experience programs. This position guides employers through the employment partnership hiring process including job postings, company information sessions, interviewing, and tracking offers and acceptances. This position also participates in the design and delivery of employment partnership related materials.The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work evenings and weekends.
**What you will do**
Acts as a first point of contact for internship and professional experience programs.
Builds relationships with employers to help create partnership opportunities.Attends conferences related to career development and employer relations.Guides employers through the employment partnership hiring process including job postings, company information sessions, interviewing, and tracking offers and acceptances.Contributes to the development and administration of new experiential learning programs and initiatives.Participates in the design and delivery of employment partnership related materials.Monitors data on student placements and contacts and analyzes trends.Coordinates events such as pre-departure workshops, welcome back events, and information sessions.
- Obtains feedback from employers, students, and partners to inform recommendations for improvements to the program and processes. Attends relevant stakeholder meetings, creates agendas and records minutes.Coordinates student support with Faculty and Department partners.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
**Required Education**
- Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
**Required Experience**
- More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience. Experience working at a post-secondary education institution considered an asset.
- Familiarity with experiential learning theory considered an asset.
- Previous experience developing and delivering workshops considered an asset.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
**Job Knowledge and Requirements**

- Identify new problems and seek information and input to fully understand the cause of problems.
- Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work processes.
- Draw logical conclusions and provides opinions and recommendations.
