**Payroll Clerk**
**List of Responsibilities include not but limited to**:
- Collect, evaluate and cross reference timesheets from supervisors
- Enter worked hours into accounting software and publish for payroll
- Upkeep of sick hours and vacation banks for employees
- Evaluate employees worked hours and ensure that they don’t exceed allocated budgets, flag if necessary.
- Prepare holiday pay sheets and compare with timesheets from supervisors
- Maintain the employee payroll portal (mapaienet.ca) and assist employees with troubleshooting
- Upkeep of employee status (regular vs irregular)
- Enter new employees, as well as update their employment status (active, terminated, etc.) in the accounting software.
- Preparation of income tax slips
- Respond to requests and assist in audits from the Comité paritaire de l’entretien d’édifices publics
- Maintain the vacation bank data for employees
- Respond to government inquiries related to employees
- Working on pay slip layout and upkeep
- Create various reports
- Assist HR with missing employee information in HR portal
- Assist with other accounting duties
**Education and/or Work Experience Requirements**:
- Certificate in accounting (DEP) or previous experience
- Critical thinking skills
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility and willingness to learn
- High respect for confidentiality
- Accurate and quick with data entry
- Customer service skills (an asset)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with employees, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Bilingual French and/or English
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Familiarity with accounting software (Acomba, Sage 50, etc)
- Preference of minimum of one year in an accounting role (or previous relevant education)
