Cambridge, Canada Axis Tool & Gauge Inc. Full time

**Position**: Toolmaker

**Shift**: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week (with possible overtime)

**Rate of Pay**: $20 - $30/hour

**Start Date**: As soon as possible

**Duties**:

- The ability to machine, fit and assemble component parts and precision tooling with a quality and timely focus to build automotive inspection fixtures and components.
- Assist other toolmakers as requested by Tool room Manager in areas such as mechanical build, coordination, bench assembly, floor assembly and integration fixtures to ensure that a quality product is built on time, safely and to budget.
- Set up and operate various machine tools, such as manual lathes, mills, cylindrical and surface grinders.
- General housekeeping and cleaning up in work areas as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Tool Room Manager.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or trade certificate an asset.
- Three to five years of previous experience in manufacturing an asset.
- Experience in automotive inspection fixtures and automation an asset.
- Basic understanding of technical specifications, engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Basic knowledge of blueprints.
- Basic mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity operating various tool room machinery and equipment.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while still having the ability to work cooperatively within a team.
- Some heavy lifting may be required up to 50 lbs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
