**Full Job Description**
**Position Summary**
The Manager of Health & Safety will have overall responsibility for the ongoing development, the systematic monitoring and the evaluation of the company’s HSE programs to ensure continual improvement and standards are being met within the company.
**Key Responsibilities**
The general responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Provide overall leadership and guidance to the Divisional Managers in all HSE areas.
- Promote quality and HSE achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
- Manage the organizations training programs for quality and safety. Ensuring training meets legislated requirements and applicable site standards.
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation as required.
- Maintain the Quality Management System documentation and controls.
- Ensure all company registrations, certifications and achievements are maintained along with Monitor and ensure compliance to all customer qualification requirements in quality and HSE (COR Certifications, ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks, etc.).
- Liaise with all governing bodies in regard to the company’s registrations and certifications.
- Manage Drug & Alcohol Program.
- Complete WCB Case Management and all incident reporting.
- Monitor performance through gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports in accordance with company guidelines.
- Develop, audit and control the company policies and procedures.
- Develop and/or review Safe Work Procedures
- Conduct orientations for workers, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
- Engage supervisors in the risk assessment process for modified work activities.
- Plan, conduct and oversee all required audits.
- Develop and maintain site specific emergency response plan (ERP).
- Manage the records and forms related to the HSE and Quality Programs to ensure compliance (insurance, drivers abstracts, meeting minutes, inspections etc.).
- Manage vendor and subcontractor requirements with regards to qualification.
- Ensure staff is motivated and excited about the work they are doing and committed to being operationally excellent.
- Monthly Safety meeting with the Trades.
**Qualifications Required**
- Strong organizational ability and excellent communication skills.
- 5+ years working experience in a leadership position in the area of quality and/or HSE.
- Technical degree or equivalent skills and experience.
- Working knowledge of quality control in a shop environment with Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Codes.
- Excellent communication including written English skills
- Good supervisory experience and strong leadership qualities.
- A strong customer focus.
Some travel will be required to Edmonton, Red Deer, Stettler and Fort McMurray

**HSE Statement**
The **HSE Manager** position is a safety sensitive/decision critical position and as such the **HSE Manager** shall not be under the influence of any drugs/alcohol or any prescribed medications that could possibly inhibit their cognitive abilities.
**Salary**: $63,524.00-$75,641.00 per year
