**Athabasca University's AVP Student and Faculty relationsis currently recruiting for the position of Intermediate Articulation Assistant.**

**PLEASE NOTE: There are 2 vacancies for the position with different terms: 1 year secondment, Permanent Full Time**

**Position**:
Consistent with University policy and the objectives and priorities of the Office of the Registrar the incumbent will:

- Be the primary contact for Athabasca University staff, faculty, and external Institutions with respect to researching and disseminating information regarding the transfer articulation process/policies.
- Assist the Coordinator, Transfer Credit Services and/or the Assistant Registrar, Transfer Credit Services and/or the Associate Registrar, Transfer Credit Services and/or the Senior Articulations Assistant in researching and resolving student appeals and or other situations that do not conform to established procedures, policies, and processes regarding transfer articulation.
- Identify to the Assistant Coordinator Articulations and/or Senior Articulations Assistant where exceptions to policy may be required.
- Provide updated information/changes to the Enrolment and Evaluations Units, Office of the Registrar team; Information Centre team; and faculties with regards to transfer articulation.
- Assist the Assistant Coordinator Articulations and/or Coordinator, Transfer Credit Services and/or Senior Articulations Assistant with overall changes to the procedures for the unit.
- Assist with transfer articulation related difficulties encountered by university staff.
- Provide administrative support to the unit by processing course and program reviews, correspondence, phone calls, etc.
- Participate in committees and special projects where input from the Articulations unit is being sought.
- Participate in testing systems, changes in systems, and business practices, and providing feedback to the Senior Articulations Assistant and/or Coordinator, Transfer Credit Services.
- Participate in cross training initiatives with the Evaluations unit.
- Research and analyze changes in business practices/systems and provide analysis with recommendations to the Assistant Coordinator Articulations and/or Senior Articulations Assistant and/or Coordinator, Transfer Credit Services.
- Assist Assistant Coordinator Articulations and/or Senior Articulations Assistant with articulation functions within the ACAT and BCCAT systems.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of high school plus one year of administrative experience. Experience in the post-secondary environment preferred, preferably in an Office of the Registrar. An equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered.
- An excellent understanding of the concept of transfer credit.
- Excellent knowledge of Athabasca University student-related functions and systems.
- An excellent knowledge of standard reference guides and resource materials and the ability to use them efficiently to gather and analyze information.
- Substantial knowledge of post-secondary institutions in Canada and a general knowledge of those in the United States, their calendars, course descriptions and transcripts.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent knowledge of computers and comfortable working with large information systems.
- Excellent time management, organizational and administrative skills required.
- Capacity to adapt to high volumes of work in accordance with ever-changing diverse and complex policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work independently as well as being a good team player.
