**POSITION**: Communications Assistant and Social Media Facilitator
**LOCATION**: Barrie and Surrounding Area with Hybrid Work Model

**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:
Catulpa Community Support Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the agency with the development and implementation of effective internal and external communications, marketing, community relations and social media strategies.

**STATEMENT OF MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Works in collaboration with the Communications Manager to support internal and external communications through the development and distribution of multi-faceted materials, including but not limited to press releases, newsletters, digital communication, reports, policies, etc.
- Supports the Communications Department in developing and actioning strategic communications strategies to optimize engagement for both staff and persons served.
- Works closely with the Communications Manager and other agency teams to develop strategic marketing campaigns to support varying objectives across a host of different platforms.
- Supports different agency teams with the development of marketing materials and creative graphics under the supervision of the Communications Manager.
- Supports the Communications Department with the development and implementation of community engagement strategies and initiatives to support the agency’s goals while building and maintaining positive relationships with community partners and leaders.
- Manages and optimizes the Catulpa Community Support Services social media channels, including the Community Action Program for Children (CAPC), to ensure they are aligned with the agency’s social media strategy.
- Supports with the development and execution of social media marketing campaigns across various platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Measures and reports on social media performance using analytics tools to track key metrics and analyze data to inform strategies.
- Conducts market research and analysis to identify industry trends that inform communication, marketing, and social media strategies as required.
- Participates in professional development in consultation with Communications Manager and demonstrates initiative in learning and developing new techniques of service delivery.
- Practices effective communication with co-workers, consulting and sharing resource information and providing case coverage as required.
- Participates in committee work internally or externally as assigned.
- Adhered to all agency standards, guidelines and procedures including health and safety.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education and Experience**
- Degree in marketing, communications, or a related field (Bachelor’s Degree considered an asset)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a communications, public relations, marketing and/or social media-focused position (healthcare or social services industry considered an asset).

**Knowledge and Skill Level**
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential, as this role will require effective engagement with internal and external parties.
- Strong understanding of social media marketing principles, strategies, and tactics.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using analytics tools to track and measure social media performance (including GA4, Meta Business, Sprout Social, etc.) considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience with content creation (including video) and graphic design considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates a proactive attitude toward agency-wide engagement, including participation in committees.
- Possess a genuine passion for collaboration with colleagues across all departments to drive positive change and support the agency's goals.
- Passion for making a positive impact in the community. Aware of Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
- French Language considered to be an asset.

- Valid Driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and insurance.
