On Side Restoration is opening a new branch in St. John, New Brunswick and we're looking to add some experienced restoration workers to our team. Do you have previous experience working in restoration? Do you love working in the restoration industry, helping people whose property has been damaged by a fire, a flood, a crime scene or other disasters? Carpenters or our "Jack of All Trades" are also known as General Repair Technicians (GRTs) at On Side. These magicians rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state GRTs use the skills of carpenters, drywallers, painters and magicians Making clients believe magic has happened is all part of a day for a GRT.

**Responsible for**
The multi-talented GRT is skilled in the following ways:

- Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
- Aluminum framing
- Drywalling and finishing
- Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing
- Insulation and vapour barrier installation
- Being awesome, in general
- Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim, landscapes and portraiture not included)
- Installation
- Doors
- Trim, moldings and baseboards
- Hardware installation
- Cabinetry

**What you bring**
- The GRT brings a host of abilities to their work, not the least being a ‘get it done’ attitude. Additional abilities required include:

- Experience working in construction environments
- Tools and the skills to use them
- Strong people and communication skills
- Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
- A safety mindset
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Ability to communicate in English

**Other stuff that’ll help you be successful but isn’t mandatory**:

- Skilled trades ticket (Carpenter, Painter, Cabinetmaker)
- IICRC certification (restoration focus)
- WHMIS
- First Aid

**Of Note**
- Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.
