Finch Drive in Squamish is DHD’s latest project. DHD has secured four stunning mountainside view properties in central Squamish totaling over 20 acres. This future master-planned community will use modern building technologies to achieve some of Squamish’s most energy efficient, multi-family homes. We are seeking an experienced **Carpenter Foreperson** to oversee site crew ensuring site rules and regulations are followed and projects are completed on schedule with all aspects of interior finishing carpentry completed to a high level of quality with excellent attention to detail in high end multi-family housing units. The Carpenter Foreperson reports to the Site Supervisor.

**THE ROLE: RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES**

Be knowledgeable about company goals and financial progress. Support the strategic plan to advance the company’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization.

Communicate with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager on any and all issues that could be detrimental or create new opportunities.

Create and lead a culture of respect, integrity, and open communication. An environment that is conducive to teamwork and that delivers a high level of customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and profitability.

Collaborate with clients, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the projects proceed as planned.

Work on the project site alongside the crew and attend weekly site meetings.

Manage material required for site crew including assisting in ordering and site distribution.

Assist in measuring cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials made of wood, steel and other materials as required.

Work effectively with all members of the DHD team to facilitate job specifications and meet operating schedules.

Produce efficient and high quality daily work in compliance with required building codes.

Review all DHD and sub-trade work for accuracy and quality.

Read drawings to scale, calculating material requirements and ordering materials as required.

Give direction to site crew carpenters and carpenter apprentices while monitoring work quality and reporting and reviewing daily hours and tasks.

Maintain daily log and consistent communication for all scheduling and any other matters with Site Supervisor.

Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and DHD policies on site at all times.

Complete other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Site Supervisor.

**I.** **Qualifications**

**Education and Experience**
- A diploma or red seal in carpentry or equivalent in experience;
- 7+ years of experience as a carpenter in general construction;
- Experience leading a team of sub-trades;
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license;
**Skills**

**Comprehensive knowledge of**:

- Construction drawings, current building practices and BC building codes;
- Concrete form setting and framework;
- WorkSafe BC regulations, processes and safety practices;
**Proven skill in**:

- Safe work practices;
- Problem-solving with the ability to effectively plan, prioritize and execute;
- Performing physically demanding tasks;
- Operating hand and power tools of all types;
- Operating light, medium and heavy vehicles and special construction and maintenance equipment;
- Interpersonal relationship building;

- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to produce high-quality results;

- Produce clear, concise and accurate written documentation; and
