Located in Orillia and reporting to the Associate Dean, of Human Services and Community Safety, the incumbent delivers a course in the Human Services and Community Safety academic area for the General Education program. The course may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening and are planned to be delivered in person at Orillia campus. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Delivers a course in the General Education program:

- PSYL1002 Intro to Psychology 2
This course introduces students to psychological theories that provide a foundation for understanding human behaviour and mental processes. Topics include personality theories, creativity and intelligence, physiological processes and human development
- Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
- Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluates student progress / achievement
- Participates in program and college activities as required
- Participates in program revisions and renewal activities as required
- Creates and maintains a positive learning environment

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field
- Successfully completed a Masters degree in Psychology or related field (preferred)
- 2 years of experience in teaching (face-to-face and online modalities) and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience
- Experience embracing change and leading innovation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to life-long learning
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
- Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
- Teaching and Training certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset
