Community Support Worker

Community Support Workers assists individuals with developmental disabilities, using a person-directed approach, in all aspects of their support plans. Community Living Kincardine and District is recruiting applicants from the Developmental Services or Human Services fields, who are looking for a rewarding career in supporting individuals to achieve their goals and actively participate in their community. This position is for a **contract full-time** Community Support Worker with an **average of 30 hours **of scheduled work per week, as well as being able to pick up additional call-in shifts, within our Residential location to increase your earning power. The expected end of contract term is July 6, 2025.

**Responsibilities**:
- Support individuals in their daily routines, as determined by their support plans.
- Provide personal care and cognitive, social and/or emotional support using a person-directed approach.
- Offer support to enable individuals to be self-sufficient and to nurture self-determination.
- Provide flexible, quality supports to assist individuals to discover inclusive, community options where possible.
- Provide assistance with a variety of household activities, and meal preparation, as required.
- Maintain effective, open communication with Individuals receiving support, co-workers, families, external service providers, and Supervisor.
- Provide quality support consistent with Agency Policies & Procedures, Mission, Vision & Values, and Ministry of Children Community and Social Services (MCCSS) requirements.
- Promote a safe environment for both staff and supported individuals.
- Ability to work and contribute in a team environment
**Qualifications and Position Requirements**:
- Preference given to those who have a minimum 2 years' experience in the Human Services field or Post-Secondary School diploma in a related field.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check.
- Valid Class "G" Ontario Driver's Licence and able to utilize your personal, adequately insured vehicle (proof of minimum $1 million liability insurance) for work purposes.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certificate (or obtained within first three months of hire).
**Compensation and Benefits**:
- **Competitive Wages; entry level positions start at $26.70 per hour for day shift and $20.87 per hour for overnight (sleep) shift.**:
