Community Living Kincardine & District is recruiting applicants, from the Developmental or Human Service fields, for a **part-time** Community Support Worker with 18 hours scheduled per week, and the option of picking up additional call-in shifts, in our Community Participation Supports & Services (CPSS) program.

Community Support Workers assist individuals with developmental disabilities, using a person-directed approach in supporting individuals to achieve their goals and actively participate in their community. **Responsibilities**:

- Assist individuals to reach goals set out in their Individual Support Plan (ISP)
- Identify activities or programs within the community that match the interest of the individual and/or goal of their ISP
- Be involved with proactive planning to identify and support activities of choice for each individual in areas of leisure, recreation, education, employment, volunteerism, and personal enrichment
- Provide cognitive, social and/or emotional support using a person-centered approach
- Offer support to enable individuals to be self-sufficient and to nurture self-determination
- Provide flexible, quality supports to assist individuals to discover inclusive, community options where possible
- Maintain effective, open communication with Individuals receiving support, co-workers, families, external service providers, and Supervisor.
- Provide quality support consistent with Agency Policies & Procedures, Mission, Vision & Values, and Ministry of Children Community and Social Services (MCCSS) requirements.
- Promote a safe environment for both staff and supported individuals.
- Ability to work and contribute in a team environment

**Qualifications and Position Requirements**:

- Preference given to those who have a minimum 2 years' experience in the Human Services field or Post-Secondary School diploma in a related field.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check.
- Valid Class "G" Ontario Driver's Licence and able to utilitize your personal, adequately insured vehicle (proof of minimum $1million liability insurance) for work purposes.
- Valid First Aid/CPR certificate (or obtained within first three months of hire).
- Access to a mobile device that can accept texts; indicating when work shifts are available.
