**Position Summary**

Wave Control Systems Ltd., an industry leader in engineered process and control equipment, is seeking a full-time, extremely self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team, taking responsibility for designing custom and make-to-order (MTO) equipment. The objective of this position is to work with a multi-discipline team of engineers, technologists, and tradespeople to help prepare designs, drawings, documents, and finished products. The scope of work for this position includes electrical, firmware, instruments, controls, and, ideally, some mechanical. These are typically fast paced projects ranging in turnaround from a few weeks to six months for new custom equipment, product development, and integration projects, and are mostly not long-term R&D projects. This position will report to the Operations Manager.

**Qualifications**
- Diploma in Instrumentation, or related field
- Minimum five years experience in an instrumentation or related role

**Role Requirements**
- Able to interpret General Arrangement and instrument line drawings/designs for oil sand projects
- Able to install, test/operate E/I components and trouble shoot issues
- Able to perform Swagelok tube bending, cutting, measuring and installation
- Experience with PVC/CPVC welding
- Shop work and field work
- Troubleshooting/performing maintenance on pump package components (pumps, level transmitters, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and ‘big picture’ skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated, self-directed, self-organized
- Ability to be flexible, resourceful, collegial, and cooperative
- Strong leadership and accountability

**Additional Responsibilities**
- Work as a team member in engineering and production as required to help with estimating, product design, improvements and new product development, as applicable
- Work with the sales team and clients to develop a clear project scope
- Read bid specifications as necessary to develop an overall scope of work, identify critical details, prepare bill of materials, and project cost estimates
- Provide technical support to clients and production
