**Fuel Cell Test Technician**

**Description**

We are looking for a talented **Fuel Cell Test Technician** for our **Accelera by Cummins** business unit located in Mississauga, ON.

**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways**:

- This applied science position applies chemical principles that create and develop product functionalities which are integrated and sold into Cummins’ products. The position involves the research, design, analysis, testing and failure analysis of chemical based products, including catalyts, substrates, sensors, batteries and fuel cells.
- Owns problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems or services with a greater degree of technical complexity and ambiguity over an entry level engineer and with greater accountability to the project team.Provides independent execution of established work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge; engages with the improvement of systems and processes.
- Involves mínimal direct management of people, but could involve the coordination and direction of work amongst technicians and/or interns.Contributes effectively toward team goals, exhibits influence within a work group and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.

**Qualifications**

**To be successful in this role you will need the following**:

- Operate fuel cell stack test stations; perform other process operations in a safe and efficient manner
- Support and participate the fuel cell system design, build, and brass-board integration for fuel cell prototype concepts
- Build fuel cell stacks for R&D testing, perform specific post-build screening tests and measurements to assess stack health (leak test, stack height measurement, etc.), and install stacks on test stations/brass-boards
- Participate in cross training initiatives for Stack / Module Build and Test Operations
- Communicating with the R&D team, resolving mechanical complications and scheduling operation
- Perform regular screening tests and measurements to assess stack health
- Maintain fuel cell test stations, report and log test station issues, and assist in test station troubleshooting. Maintain and modify testing automation scripts as needed
- Organize and process data, create test reports and presentations
- Identify process improvements to reduce cost and improve efficiency

**Experience Required**:

- 2 years of experience with operating and maintaining electro-mechanical equipment and machines, with a high comfort level with computer interfaces
- Proven experience in a rigorous and detail-oriented environment in manufacturing or industrial engineering
- Working knowledge of computer-controlled hardware and instrumentation
- Working knowledge of temperature and pressure sensors, and mass flow controls
- Experience in electrochemical products (fuel cells, electrolyzers, batteries) and fundamentals is an asset
- Basic knowledge of fuel cells and fuel cell operation
- Basic knowledge of and ability to read P&IDs
- TSSA H2 Technician certificate is an asset
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point. Some knowledge of programming in MATLAB or Python or any other programming languages is an asset
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and place importance on maintaining high quality standards
- Possess strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Capable of working in a pro-active manner with mínimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently or in a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
