**Description**
We are looking for a talented **Product Safety Engineering Leader** to support the HyLYZER-1000 and join our **#Accelera by Cummins** Business unit located in **Mississauga, ON.**
**In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways**:
This product focused, developing leadership position performs established technical tasks at the product and cross-business integration level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area. This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle. Because of the product centered nature of this position, they are very often a central point of coordination and decision making between product engineers, product line engineers, customer teams, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing.
- Obtains input from stakeholders such as technical managers, project leaders, other product and manufacturing engineers and supplier partners to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions.
- Uses systems knowledge and expertise to make decisions in the areas of technology integration, design, analysis and experimental test verification and validation for both new a current products that impact product form, functionality and overall project risk trade-offs.
- Creates, manages, improves and applies processes such ESW, iDFMEA, FIRG and tools such as 7-step problem solving, design review checklist and other specialized tools required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making.
- Provides problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact.Leads the development and improvement of work processes and systems across function(s) within a global business unit or managing improvement across business units.
**Qualifications**
**To be successful in this role you will need the following**:
- Demonstrated success having worked in a Technical Specialist/Specialist Engineering role on lower complexity product development activities, translating customer needs and negotiating into product development plans, technical profiles and/or product specifications with a proven track record of successful product decisions.
- This role will focus on leading all aspects of Product Safety for the Electrolyzer Product. This product focused position applies highly specialized
- This Role requires driving the product engineering and production teams to success completion of task detail in the Functional Safety Life Cycle.
- Risk Assessments PHA(HAZOP/LOPA), QRA, ETA, FTA / Drive Completion of Risk Assessment Recommendation / Verify / Validate that Risk
- Assessment Recommendation are in design / Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Determination/ Creation of Safety Requirement Specification (SRS)SILVerification / Validation / Factory Acceptance Test / Site Acceptance Test / Pre-Start Safety Review (PSSR) test plan for Safety Instrumented
- Functions / Creates Functional Safety Related Documents for the production / Creates Functional Safety policies and procedures / Performs 3rd party verification of other product Functional Safety elements / Support Product Compliance Activities
- This role effectively communicates the capability of a system-level design concept to meet a vast set of requirements including a holistic assessment of alternative design concepts and leads the development of system-level requirements by working with and leading the other engineering and cross-functional disciplines.
**Education, Licenses, Certifications**
**College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.**
**Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.**
**This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations**
