Payroll Administrator

Location: Okotoks, AB

Mullen Group Ltd. is one of Canada’s largest logistics providers. Our network of independently operated businesses provide a wide range of service offerings including less-than-truckload, truckload, warehousing, logistics, transload, oversized and specialized hauling transportation. In addition, we provide a diverse set of specialized services related to the energy, mining, forestry and construction industries in western Canada, including water management, fluid hauling and environmental reclamation.

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Corporate Office Human Resources team in Okotoks, AB.

Responsibilities and Skills:
▪ Processing of multi bi-weekly payrolls including employee payments & deductions for assigned Business Units

▪ Understanding of gross to net payroll calculations; time and attendance, bonus calculations, taxable benefits, terminations, and employee deductions such as garnishments, benefit premiums and voluntary deductions

▪ Understanding and issuing of Records of Employment

▪ Ensure the accurate and on time pay for all assigned employees

▪ Prepare and submit biweekly payroll journal entries and reconciliations

▪ Perform payroll year end reporting requirements per CRA Regulation

▪ Work with our Business Units to understand their procedures and policies

▪ Stay current with payroll regulations, employment standards and work procedures

▪ Collaborate with the HR department on the coordination of employee benefits and personnel records utilizing ADP document cloud and upholding records retention requirements

▪ Demonstrate the ability to work with people in a respectful, sensitive, tactful, diplomatic and professional manner always

Qualifications:
▪ Payroll experience and/or working towards a payroll designation would be considered an asset

▪ Working knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation applicable to payroll practices

▪ Experience working with ADP - Work North American product software would be considered an asset

▪ Payroll Accounting experience would be considered an asset

▪ Possess working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products

▪ Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

▪ Can work and thrive in a fast-paced team environment

▪ Be committed to the process of continuous improvement and ongoing change

▪ Have excellent multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail

▪ Take the initiative to achieve high standards in all aspects of job duties

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
