**Position Description**:

Salary Range:

- $39.00 to $46.57 Hourly

**Summary of Responsibilities**:

- The IMHR has partnered with an established research data platform developer to build the CNMDP. The Systems Developer will support the local implementation of key infrastructure and services as an extension of this team. This will include secure research storage, components of the CNMDP and their associated secure connectivity with related systems, as well as core front-facing services. This role will work with diverse stakeholders including scientists, trainees, informatics specialists, research managers and other colleagues.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Must have the ability to carry out all major responsibilities as outlined below:

- ** Development & Implementation** (**10**0**%)**:

- Develop high-performance infrastructure and research informatics services in a medical-research environment.
- Implement and deploy research infrastructure, including maintenance, life cycle management and developing related documentation.
- Ensure robust and stable operations including redundancies, load-balancing and ‘no single point of failure’.
- Implement data access, permissions, firewalls, anti-virus solutions and roles to ensure compliance with privacy and research ethics across services.
- Work with CNMDP stakeholders to build services and implement integrative technologies.
- Manage permissions and roles, for developers and system users, in alignment with clinical and research compliance.
- Working with technical teams, your responsibilities include managing, integrity and maintaining a secure research storage management and compute infrastructure.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Neuroscience, Medical Informatics, Information Science, Computer Science or related field. Post-graduate training in a related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience developing and supporting computing resources in an active research environment and experience in data management in a technology setting.
- Strong knowledge of data management across the research lifecycle, including creation, processing, analysis, preservation, access, and reuse of research data.
- Experience in a cross-section of the following areas, and a demonstrated ability and interest to learn new aspects of research computing.
- Experience with High Performance Storage, Research Data Management Platforms (XNAT, LabKey, REDCap), Research Software (SAS, Matlab) and High-Throughput networks.
- Experience with storage protocols, NFS, SMB, HDFS, iSCSI
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems, administration and support
- Experience with Linux/Windows interfaces/integration
- Experience with virtualization (specifically VMWare) and VM management
- Experience with database management (PostgreSQL, Db2, MariaDB, Hive, InfluxDB, MySQL)
- Experience working with versioning control systems, package management software and software development life cycles.
- Experience with developing interactive dashboards an asset, e.g. using Tableau, Power BI, or other business intelligence or visualization software.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of informatics infrastructure, data management, permissions management and privacy considerations.
- Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and network principles
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and determined attitude towards ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; balancing strategic alignment with technology roadmap and emerging industry trends with practical delivery.
