The Italian Cultural Centre is proud to introduce “Osteria al Centro,” a brand-new authentic Italian pizzeria and bar offering a variety of savoury Italian dishes in an atmosphere reminiscent of the best casual eateries in Italy. **Organization Profile**

Founded in 1977, the Italian Cultural Centre’s mission is “to promote Italian language, culture and heritage and to share these with other communities”. Created by volunteers, with financial support from the Province of BC and the City of Vancouver, the Centre serves as a vital reference and focal point for the Lower Mainland’s Italian Canadian Community and for all those in the greater community who appreciate Italian culture “Il Centro” has operated for over 40 years and presents a broad spectrum of cultural programming, events and activities on an annual basis.

**Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following**:

- Assist with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant
- Maintain exceptional standards of professionalism and hospitality
- Lead by example, inspiring staff and helping staff to deliver a memorable food and beverage experience
- Display a genuine passion to facilitate and exceed guest service expectations
- Ensure the delivery of superior customer service through effective staff training and education
- Actively participate in the mentorship and support of all team members
- Develop a strong and positive rapport with both staff and guests alike
- Drive positive results that align with business goals
- Under the direction of the Restaurant General Manager, initiate and execute special projects as required
- Ensures knowledge of menu and products, good follow-up for special requests
- Follow correct reporting procedures when faced with issues
- Comply with Health & Safety procedures, IL Centro’s polices, and emergency procedures
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
- Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables
- Manage guest queries in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
- Assist in the hiring and training of new employees as well as the continuous training of existing staff

**Job Requirements**:

- Great conversational skills and teamwork oriented
- Serving It Right Certification
- POS Experience
- 1 year Serving / Supervising experience in a Restaurant
- Previous experience in Restaurant is an asset but not required
- Must be flexible to work, days, evenings, and weekends.

- Must have English communication skills - reading and writing,
- Great Leader and Mentor.

**Job Standards**:

- Physically capable of lifting to 25 lbs.
- Ability to listen and respond to demanding guest needs

- The capacity to work under extreme pressure.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Microsoft Office: 1 year (preferred)
- Supervising: 1 year (required)
