- Job Description
- The Buyer - Planner, reporting to the Purchasing Manager, will be responsible and accountable for planning and scheduling production operations and buying material and products to help manage accurate stocking levels.- This position will determine and analyze inventory parameters, manage purchase orders, communicate delivery schedules, expedite material, process returns as well as help resolve payment issues, if any. They will also be responsible for communicating supplier performance problems such as sourcing, delivery, and quality.- This position will work closely and support Manufacturing Operations, Vendors, Customer Service, Engineering, Warehouse, and Accounting Departments.- Above all, this position will put Safety first. - The Buyer - Planner will perform all or some of the following Job description:

- Plan all purchased and manufactured/remanufactured parts primarily for Canadian operations and support other facilities as required, based on the customer forecast, demand and goals set by the organization.
- Plan and co-ordinate with the production team to ensure effective and timely completion of jobs to meet customer demands.
- Maintain and manage accurate inventory of parts based on demand and MRP parameters, between multiple warehouses.
- Co-ordinate with multiple departments such as, technical/engineering, production, and customer service department for resolution of supplier issues (quality, delivery), or implementation of changes to the supplier base.
- Maintain accurate purchase order information in the ERP system. Confirm and modify order release due dates and quantities based on demand.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, inventory reduction, and actively support implementation, as necessary. Support disposition of excess & obsolete inventory where necessary.
- Support and help organize annual inventory count and maintain inventory integrity by performing routine cycle counts to audit performance.
- Support Warehouse and Shipping, as required. Familiar with international shipping requirements.
- Strive to meet goals for: on time delivery, days On-Hand/Inventory Turns, and cost reduction KPI’s.
- Act independently, and routinely perform moderately complex planning and problem solving.

**Essential Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 1-2 years Purchasing and Production Planning experience
- 1-2 years experience integrated Supply Chain systems (i.e., ERP systems).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
- Occasional Travel, both domestic and international.

**Preferred Requirements / Certification / Licensure**
- Certification (SCMP, CPM)

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:
