Rig Technologies Aftermarket group fully support the entire life cycle of our equipment through our Aftermarket Operations teams that provide spare parts, repair, and equipment rentals as well as remote equipment monitoring, technical support, field service, and customer training.

**Job Summary**:
The Quality Specialist is responsible for the inspection, testing and quality control operations to ensure compliance with customer requirements of NOV’s quality processes and procedures. This is an important role, working with quality manager and rest of Aftermarket team to ensure NOV quality standards are met for all equipment going out to clients run safely and efficiently.

**Essential Job Responsibilities**:

- Continuously monitor and control inspection operations to ensure compliance with applicable quality control documents.
- Assure accurate records such as traceability, process control, functional test, and demonstrations are maintained.
- Review and improve process control results for continued compliance of operations.
- Provide continual evaluation of department, methods, employee development, programs to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment.
- Research, resolve and provide support on quality control issues. Review, support, and maintain quality reports.
- Assure test function is performed in a manner consistent with applicable requirements and NOV’s quality procedures, maintain and enforce quality standards.
- Conduct internal quality auditing (both full system and process audits) of the company quality management system as a lead auditor.
- Provide guidance on developing, reviewing, and revising quality documents, policies, procedures, instructions, and quality activities.
- Review industry related documents (ISO, API, ASTM).
- Assist Area Quality Manager in maintaining QMS, ISO, and API procedures and revise as necessary.
- Review work order related documents and collect work order related information as necessary.
- Supplier quality assurance and development including supplier evaluations for product/process and system conformance.
- Use of company standard quality systems (PIMS, AIMS, Rig Office, CEF, Teamcenter, Tracker) with active participation including customer-related activities.
- Determine quality improvement parameters by identifying methods relevant to processes.
- Develop quality plans as required by the QMS and Interact with quality control personnel.
- Analyze data on NCR trending, customer concerns, and process capability analysis.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Active participation in process improvement projects internally.
- Provide training on ISO 9001/API Q1, company/facility quality procedures and work instruction.
- Understand and implement the company quality management system.
- Effectively handle quality planning and all quality assurance responsibilities for assigned projects.
- Interact with and support all facility staff, functional departments including managers and supervisors by providing quality assistance as needed.
- Conform to and perform all QMS requirements and comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Qualification Requirements **_**(Minimum Education and Experience)**_**:

- Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- **Minimum of 5 years experience in quality related activities required.**:

- Prior internal quality audit experience an asset
- Experience with training employees.
- Excellent skills in oral and written communication.

**Technical Requirements (**_**software or program knowledge needed**_**)**:

- Microsoft Office & Outlook knowledge an asset
- Specialized knowledge in or willing to receive additional training to have a complete understanding of **API Q1, ISO-9001, ABS ,DNV Specifications, API Specifications, Blue print reading and WPS reading.**

**This position is classified as safety sensitive and employment would be conditional on satisfactory completion of a pre-employment testing.**
