We are recruiting an **Associate Director, **Development** in support of private revenue generation for the Faculty of Engineering in the form of major and principal gifts.

University Advancement at McMaster University is a flexible, dynamic and ambitious team. We strengthen McMaster's relationships, secure new revenue and develop a pipeline of funders and supporters for the University. The primary means of raising funds involves face-to-face meetings and virtual visits, often involving University leadership and top researchers from our Faculty. As the Associate Director, Development you will drive the identification, cultivation, and development of a customized ask and recognition/stewardship plan for some of our Faculty’s most significant funders.

The Faculty of Engineering plays a key role in helping McMaster University earn its reputation as one of Canada’s most innovative and research-intensive universities. McMaster Engineering has a reputation for innovative programs, cutting-edge research, leading faculty, and aspiring students. The Faculty has approximately 220 faculty members, along with over 7,600 undergraduate and a little over 1,300 graduate students. The Faculty attracts approximately $46 million in annual research funding. Engineering faculty, staff and students at McMaster pursue research and learning in more than 20 research centres, institutes, and networks whose interdisciplinary pursuits cross departmental and Faculty boundaries. Outside the University, we collaborate regularly on research projects with partners in universities, government and more than 120 companies in Canada and abroad.

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Play a key role as a primary driver of overall private revenue for the Faculty and the University in support of their objectives.
- Proactively champion partnership and opportunities for new revenue in support of McMaster's research and educational goals, within the Faculty.
- Work with funders toward gifts of $100,000+ or more, which have a mid-to high degree of complexity and involve many different partners, some of whom may be internal and external to the University.
- Collaboratively work on the most strategic gifts with support from University Advancement's senior leaders, consistent with a team approach to development strategy.
- Advance and enhance the relationships, reputation, and resources of the Faculty, through relationship building and revenue generation.
- In conjunction with the Director, Development, provide counsel to senior academic leadership on the largest gifts to the Faculty.
- As a leader on the Engineering Development team, provide peer leadership efforts to secure and grow a base of major and principal gift-level supporters, and to steward these supporters in a manner to inspire them to establish, grow and sustain meaningful relationships with the University.
- As a leader on the Engineering Development team, create and maintain positive, productive relationships and build and support a vibrant, diverse, and high-performance team of professionals within the Faculty.
- Provide peer leadership efforts to secure and grow a base of major and principal gift-level supporters, and to steward these supporters in a manner to inspire them to establish, grow and sustain meaningful relationships with the University.
