**Job description**

**Basic Function**

Setting up trouble shooting and adjusting printing presses and bag machines to meet requirements of producing a quality product meeting Hymopack specifications.

**Tasks**
- Follows safety procedures in the workplace; must attend and participate in all department and appropriate plant safety meetings and training sessions.
- Conducts a daily safety check of equipment to make sure all safety devices are in place and operating properly.
- Sets up machines for production of plastic bags as per dockets supplied from scheduling.
- Makes adjustments to equipment as required to operate efficiently and produce quality product.
- Monitors the quality of bags coming off the machine and liaises with the Packer and the Q.C. Advises the Lead hand of any problems he cannot resolve or any major quality problems that arise.
- Communicates with Lead hands of any issues.
- Signs off on the Quality Control Set Up Sheets after a changeover - approving bag dimensions, print quality, colour (s) and other pertinent details.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area around machines.
- Complies with Company policies and procedures.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Conduct daily safety checks of area and equipment.
- Operation, set up and trouble shooting equipment
- Monitor process and equipment operation to product quality and reduction of waste.
- Duties as requested by management and operators.
- Communication with oncoming shift at shift change

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.93-$23.25 per hour
