Job Title: Children's Support Worker

Job Overview:
The Children’s Program Support Worker (CPSW) reports to the Residential Shelter Manager and is responsible for the operation of the Children’s Program. The Children's Program Worker plays a vital role in providing support to Mothers and children living in our Residential Shelter, while also supporting a small community-based case load.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Program Delivery

Support children and Mothers staying in the residential shelter by conducting intake interviews, planning activities, designing and implementing programs for children.

Advocate and make referrals for families as needed.

Engage in one-on-one trauma informed programming centered on empowering children with healthy coping skills and validating their emotions and experiences.

Offer childcare services when parents need to attend appointments or court hearings.

Support children in their transition out of the shelter.

Work as part of a team, ensuring seamless support for families, including addressing crisis situations and immediate needs.

Attend team meetings and agency meetings to collaborate and build a positive team culture.

Administration, Documentation and Reporting

Maintain and update confidential records, ensuring all staff members have access to essential information.

Collaborate with colleagues to provide accurate data for financial reporting and program evaluation.

Participate in committees as required, contributing to the agency's mission.

Coordinate activities with volunteers and students.

Assist in managing property, ensuring that play structures and other items are in good repair.

Provide regular updates to supervisors and participate in supervision as required.

Complete and deliver annual reporting as required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
