**The Opportunity**

Millennium is currently seeking a full-time GIS Specialist to join our team in Calgary, AB, to assist in the production of various mapping and spatial data products. Reporting to the GIS Manager, the GIS Specialist is responsible for mapping and GIS related tasks including the management, analysis and presentation of GIS data and mapping.
- Prepare high-quality maps from standard map templates for planning, consultation, and regulatory submissions, as well as custom maps as required.
- Create and maintain complex survey/geographic digital data sets, undertake geoprocessing and advanced editing tasks; ensuring data meets quality control specifications.
- Be a resource in responding to a variety of requests for information, maps, and data.
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills to solve complex tasks using GIS.
- Assist in updating and maintaining mapping standards, documentation, and work processes.

**The Pre-Requisites**:

- Degree or technical diploma in a related discipline. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced proficiency in ESRI ArcMap Desktop.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical requirements, regulations, drawings, and job specifications.
- Have a keen eye for detail, cartographic design, and ability to produce high quality map products.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work well in a team atmosphere.
- Able to creation of surfaces and profiles using LiDAR and/or DEM data would be an asset.
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Online; AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Global Mapper would be an asset
- Automation and scripting skills using tools such as Python, FME would be an asset.
