**Reporting to**: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

**Primary Focus**

Our Osoyoos packing facility receives fruit (including cherries, stone fruit, pears, and apples) in bulk from Okanagan-based growers and sorts it for quality and size before packaging it for shipment to our domestic and international customers. Our Oliver warehouse provides storage for inventories of packaged product and packaging materials. Safe and seamless production flow and accurate inventory practices are important aspects of ensuring the quality of produce for our customers.

**Job Context and Accountabilities**
- Oliver Warehouse:

- Accurate maintenance of shipping and receiving information for packaging inventory, using software programs to log packaging materials into and out of the facility
- Osoyoos Packing Facility:

- Accurate maintenance of shipping and receiving information for packaging inventory and packaged product, using software programs to log packaging materials and product into and out of the facility
- Accurate and timely physical inventory counting and, in conjunction with Accounting, reconciling inventory counts in the system with actual inventory
- Safe and responsible operation of pallet jacks, propane and electric forklifts inside and outside of the facilities, as well as safe and responsible operation of 5-ton truck to:

- transport packaging materials and packaged fruit and/or fruit bins and pallets on and off trucks
- transport packaging materials between packing facilities and Oliver warehouse
- weigh and stack fruit bins
- rotate product to ensure freshness standards are maintained
- Ensure pre-shift forklift equipment checklists are completed and maintenance arranged where required
- Report any quality, maintenance, and safety issues to Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
- Completion of other responsibilities as assigned

**Skills**:

- Leadership (including coaching and training) skills

- Minimum valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license or out-of-province equivalent
- Recognize differences or similarities in packaging products
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn in-house software programs
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training is an asset
- Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) training is an asset
- First Aid training is an asset
- Previous agriculture and/or packing facility experience is an asset

**Physical requirements**
- Frequent sitting, walking, and climbing on and off of forklift
- Occasional standing
- Ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, and move levers, foot pedals, and steering wheel knobs
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 25 kilograms (50 pounds)

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
