**Project Manager**

**This is a 3-month position for an onsite project in Bella Coola starting April 1st.**

**Key Information**:

- ** Must have at least 5 years as a Project Manager or equivalent experience.**:

- ** Must have 3+ years of estimating or equivalent experience.**:

- ** Hours: Based on a 44-hour work week; however, overtime is required during the busy season.**:

- **Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when needed.**:

- **Hourly rate is dependent on experience.**:

- ** Schedule and chair construction planning and coordinate meetings.**:

- ** Plan the construction project to establish affective organization.**:

- ** Direct the overall construction program of the project.**:

- Provide leadership to promote maximum productivity.
- Maintain accountability for field costs and forecast costs to complete; and implement cost control procedures within the Project Execution Plan.
- Ensure a site safety program is developed and implemented to provide a safe working environment for the project construction force.
- Recommend the award of construction contracts based on the analysis of the estimating department. Negotiate contractual terms with the selected contractor(s); and administer contracts efficiently to maximize contractor performance and minimize exposure to claims and extras.
- Incorporate procedures so that required information (such as forecast costs and progress data) flows effectively within the project group, to senior company managers, and to our clients.
- Coordinate with municipal authorities as required for public relations, permits and construction interfaces.
- Develop a plan for turnover of the completed facility to operations and ensure that turnover is completed on schedule.
- Managing the liaison between project design engineering and the field.
- Ensure jobsite procedures and controls are implemented by all personnel.
- Review, with the accounting, all construction contractors' invoices for physical percent complete or units of work complete and approve as appropriate.

**Experience and Certification Requirements**:

- ** 5 years of experience working as a Project Manager or equivalent is required.**:

- ** Have a strong background of civil construction projects or equivalent is an asset.**:

- Able to mentor Field Engineers and other team members.
- Strong on contracts and contract negotiations.
- Cost Controls experience is an asset.
- Good people skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- ** Travel is required - a valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.**:

- ** A reliable means of transportation is required.**:

- Proficient English language skills required.

**Education: A diploma or degree in civil engineering or project management or equivalent is required.**
