**Job Summary**

**The Quality Assurance Team Lead provides supervision, technical assistance and scheduling to quality assurance technicians and associates. As a quality assurance professional, he or she is involved in all aspects of quality and safety including but not limited to audits, HACCP program evaluation, GMP training, sanitation evaluation, pest control, purchasing supplies, working with operations personnel on quality and safety issues, inspecting returned and incoming products, customer complaints, implementing policies and procedures and evaluating new equipment installation or repair.**:
**Position Responsibilities**
- ** Coordinates quality assurance activities ( audits, training, purchasing)**:

- ** Provides technical assistance and training to QA personnel**:

- ** Schedule and manage QA team to support operational needs**:

- ** Monitors and verifies the HACCP plan’s CCPs adhering to policy and procedures**:

- ** Conduct GMP and sanitation audits of operations and warehouse areas**:

- ** Works with operations personnel on quality and food safety issues**:

- ** Verifies operations control systems are functional and being followed**:

- ** Triage quality incidents and implement corrective actions**:

- ** Places product on hold, release or disposition as necessary while adhering to policies and procedures**:

- ** Evaluates damaged or out of specification products and conditions**:

- ** Coordinates resolution of customer complaints as necessary**:

- ** Completes analytical reviews of product and raw ingredients**:

- ** Ensure QA Team Members are engaged in plant and company safety programs**:

- ** **Cover the QA Manager role when the QA Manager is away from the plant**:

- ** Other duties as assigned**:
**Position Qualifications**
- Degree or diploma in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or other related technical degree or diploma is an asset.
- 3-5 years leadership experience working in GFSI certified food manufacturing facilities
- Complete understanding of Food Safety Guidelines/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safe practices and procedures
- Proven success in developing a strong team
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks
- Complete understanding of HACCP Plans
- Understanding of government regulations (CFIA, FDA)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
- Large organization/corporate experience is an asset
- Proficient computer skills and quick on learning new software
- SAP experience is an asset
- Self-directed to look for improvement opportunities
- Ability to follow and execute instructions and procedures
- Ability to work days, evenings and weekends, including Saturday and Sunday in some weeks
