Sanitation Supervisor

**Position Summary**:
The role of this position is to supervise any and all sanitation activities that are required within our facility.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Oversee daily sanitation operations.
- Supervise sanitation personnel.
- Monitor the preparation and use of cleaning chemicals.
- Follow all sanitation procedures and work instructions.
- Monitor cleaning records and frequencies.
- Perform daily inspections and record information as required.
- Train employees on SSOP’s. Assist the Food Safety Manager in designing the SSOP’s.
- Attend scheduled meetings and give inputs to improve the process.
- Enforce and monitor current company GMP, SSOP, and HACCP guidelines. Follow through with corrective actions.
- Assist Management in various projects related to sanitation.
- Manage inventory related to sanitation.
- Use of materials / cleaning chemicals in proper rotation (FIFO - should follow first in, first out or FIFO first expiry, first out).
- Assist management in proactively identifying problems and providing solutions.
- Recognize and report any signs of equipment tampering.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately.
- Support positive employee relations, fair treatment and respect in all aspects of interaction with employees; address employee concerns/requests in a timely and caring manner; ensure all employees and ideas are respected and valued and their unique and diverse perspectives are leveraged to improve business results.
- Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous.improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Key Knowledge/** **Experiences**:
- Working knowledge of GMP’s, SSOP’s, HAACP, OHS and other quality and safety programs in food processing environments.
- Previous experience in sanitation is an asset.
- Supervisory experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours including some weekend work.
**Physical Demands**:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Manual dexterity and utilization of both hands and all fingers is required. The employee is frequently required to bend and stoop. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20kgs and lift and/or move more than 20kgs with the aid of a co-worker. The employee must push/pull equipment, manual or automated pallet jacks and other equipment. Frequent flexing, extending, and turning of the neck and head are required.
