This is a full-time salaried position of 37.5 hours per week.

Annual salary of $55,000 to $65,000 per year based on experience.
- **Job Overview**_

The Fund Development Manager (FDM) plays a central role in the ongoing success of Almost Home, and its affiliate thrift store, YGK Thrift. The FDM is both Almost Home’s **Fundraiser** and **Event Planner**.

Almost Home is a not-for-profit organization with a small core staff of dedicated employees. It is located in downtown Kingston. Almost Home’s mission is to provide temporary housing to families receiving medical care. By organizing fundraising events and participating in outreach activities within the community, the Fund Development Manager (FDM) enables Almost Home to provide quality and affordable temporary housing to young patients and their families. The FDM is chiefly responsible for the strategic planning and the successful execution of all fundraising initiatives related to Almost Home.
- **Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities**:_

**Minimum of one to two years of direct fundraising experience is mandatory.**

**Minimum of one year of event planning experience is desired.**

Minimum of one to two years’ experience working or volunteering in the not-for-profit sector; experience in the not-for-profit health and/or housing fields is highly sought after.

Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience and familiarity communication across contemporary social media platforms; experience in public speaking is also a must.

Ease and familiarity with relevant fundraising and communications-focused computer software programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suit, Raiser’s Edge (or similar), etc.

Demonstrated ability to work simultaneously with a variety of organizational stakeholders including but not limited to: donors, volunteers, full and part-time staff, as well as post-secondary student and community placements.

Must be able to provide your own reliable means of transportation as this position does require local travel and travel to nearby municipalities (to collect donations, for example). Mileage is provided.

- **Major Responsibilities of this Position**_
- **Fundraising Program**_
- Manage and execute Almost Home’s comprehensive fundraising program to meet or exceed the budgetary needs of Almost Home.
- Grow corporate sponsorship through ongoing sponsor engagement, as well as research and assisting with writing grant proposals.
- Manage event volunteer recruitment and coordination.
- Facilitate Almost Home’s two annual signature events: the Charity Gala & the Summer Golf Tournament.
- Assist with administrative support, coordination, marketing and promotion of all fundraising activities, including special events, sponsorships, and donation campaigns.
- **YGK Thrift Store**_
- Assist Almost Home’s affiliate downtown Kingston thrift store YGK Thrift with: marketing and sales promotions, clothing drives and events, and community outreach, and volunteer engagement.
- Evaluate ongoing thrift store sales and work with the Executive Director and Thrift Store Manager to optimize operations.
- Develop yearly budget for fundraising events related to YGK Thrift.
- Work with the Thrift Store Manager to define and pursue thrift store opportunities.
- **Collaborating with the Executive Director & the Board of Directors**_
- Provide support and information to Almost Home’s Executive Director, Board of Directors and Committees as required.
- Implement programs and policies approved by the Board of Directors.
- Propose and recommend programs and policies to the Executive Director.
- Assist Executive Director with long term planning.
- **Donor Management**_
- Supervise donor stewardship, recognition, acknowledgement and oversee all donor communications.
- Identify, initiate and maintain relationships with prospective individual and corporate Almost Home donors.
- **Public Relations**_
- Work with the Almost Home newsletter committee to produce a quarterly digital and print newsletter.
- Manage relations with the media, i.e., writing and distributing press releases, participating in media interviews to publicize fundraising events, etc.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase Almost Home’s overall profile using traditional and social media platforms.
- Speak about Almost Home at various public gatherings, events, and corporate meetings for the benefit of Almost Home.
