**Project Coordinator, Oyateki Community Connections**:
**Primary Purpose**: The Project Coordinator - Oyateki Community Connections is responsible to lead, oversee and implement projects assigned to this role designed to develop and further the Oyateki Community Connections initiative through the Office of the Vice-Provost Indigenous Engagement and in collaboration with the School of Environment and Sustainability (SENS). The position will be 75% Oyateki Partnership through the Office of the Vice-Provost Indigenous Engagement and 25% SENS. The Oyateki Partnership aspires to lead and facilitate transformation to change the lives of Indigenous youth for the better through strengthening connections between the university, Indigenous communities, and Oyateki partners. This collaborative body comprising the Oyateki Partnership includes the University of Saskatchewan (USask), Gabriel Dumont Institute and Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies. The Project Coordinator will collaboratively develop and care for relationships with community partners to support Indigenous students by working with the Office of the Vice-Provost Indigenous Engagement (OVPIE), SENS, other USask staff across various portfolios, and Oyateki Project partners.

**Nature of Work**: The position will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure understanding, knowledge, and integration of projects that are identified in the Oyateki Partnership, and the Office of the Vice-Provost Indigenous Engagement. A central aspect of this work will be Indigenous-led and cared for partnerships through respectful community engagement reflecting the diverse population of USask while uplifting Indigenous Knowledges, methodologies, and pedagogies. This position will identify opportunities and collaborate to convert ideas into operational projects that are subsequently prioritized, resourced, and executed as directed. The Project Coordinator will also respond to the needs of USask Indigenous students by working to create and maintain community connections and expand community-based resources for education, training, and employment programming that is aligned to student and community objectives. The Project Coordinator will contribute strategically to the experience and success of Indigenous students at USask through initiatives that will increase self-efficacy and improve systems navigation through training and learning opportunities, facilitation, and events.

Reporting to the Senior Strategic Officer, Office of the Vice Provost, Indigenous Engagement, the work of this position is complex and broad with significant impact. Projects will be end to end and will require significant coordination of both internal resources as directed.

**Accountabilities**:
**Project Coordination**
- Provide project direction, oversight, and participation in assigned project initiatives that are designed to achieve the goals and commitments of the Oyateki Partnership
- Coordinate projects and initiatives and oversees and participates in the execution of effective plans that incorporate layered communications and change tactics
- Collaborate with staff of various USask units and external partners to identify and implement programs and initiatives required to meet the objectives of the Oyateki Partnership
- Maintain a high level of awareness of community engagement best practices at the local, national and international levels; bring this knowledge into strategic and operational planning
- Ensure effective management and maintenance of projects and initiative documentation and data files
- Liaises with multiple stakeholders and maintains effective working relationships through consultations to ensure ongoing communication related to initiative activities and status
- Collaborate, participate, and initiate opportunities within community partners to promote education and success of Indigenous learners and develop resources and processes supporting the transition to post-secondary

**Communication**
- Works with communication partners to utilize the most effective channels to deliver consistent, appropriately timed communications
- Develop and expand community engagement guidelines to support reciprocal and respectful community engagement

**Relationships/Partnerships**
- Engages and works with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous communities in a manner that is respectful and understands the diversity of Métis, First Nations, and Inuit cultures
- Engages and influences stakeholders and process owners in development and execution

**Qualifications**:

- Education: A related undergraduate degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.

**Experience**:

- Experience in an Indigenous portfolio; experience working with Indigenous communities, organizations, leaders, Elders, Knowledge Keepers; Knowledge of Indigenous protocols
