Reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the Product Development team, we seek the addition of a skilled **Sample Sewer.** The Sample Sewer is responsible for the sewing of garment prototypes according to Sympli brand concept and vision while meeting Sympli quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Utilizing in-house patterns, construct and sew both woven and knit prototypes and samples implementing required sewing techniques and construction methods.
- Work with product development to assist in troubleshooting and resolving potential construction issues to improve production processes to achieve desired outcome.
- Competence using over-lock/serger, cover-stitch and single needle industrial sewing machines along with the ability to make operational adjustments and possess general maintenance knowledge.
- Able to produce sample and graded prototypes according to technical specifications adhering to brand quality standards for both product development and production purposes.

**Requirements**:

- Industrial sewing machine experience is essential, preferably in an apparel manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of garment construction, assembly methods and productions processes with competent use of relevant machinery.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision and also as a team player to support other sewers.
- Must be able to comprehend and communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

Minimum Experience:

- A minimum of 5+ years of industrial sewing and apparel construction is required with sample sewing experience preferred.
- Commercial single-needle, overlock/serger, coverstitch industrial sewing machine experience is a must. Working knowledge of other production machinery such as buttonhole, snap machines is an asset.
- Knowledge in sewing both woven and knit fabrics is ideal with handling and sewing of ITY/jersey an asset.

This is a full-time Monday - Friday position. Compensation is based on skill and experience. We offer group insurance coverage after the successful completion of the probationary period. Our production facility is located near the Sperling SkyTain Station with Translink bus service available directly to our place of business.
