**About the Opportunity**:
E.B. Horsman & Son is seeking a talented and experienced **Distribution Center Manager** to lead our distribution operations. As a Distribution Center Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of our distribution center, ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellence in all aspects of warehouse operations.
**Work Location**:Based out of our Distribution Center, 19295 25 Avenue, Surrey BC.
**What are the Key Accountabilities?**
**Warehouse Operations**:
- Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
- Continuously analyze and optimize warehouse processes for maximum efficiency.
- Maintain the warehouse as a top-tier work environment.
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including carrier coordination.
- Manage key performance metrics for quality assurance and productivity standards.
**Staff Management**:
- Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing warehouse team.
- Conduct interviews, hiring, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with HR on progressive discipline and termination.
- Inspire, motivate, and coach team members for success.
- Address conflicts and maintain a positive work environment.
- Lead the root cause analysis and resolution of team capabilities and areas for improvement of distribution center staff. Rectify shortcomings, cultivate a comprehensive teamwork mindset, and encourage collaboration.
- Facilitate regular meetings to drive continuous improvement and maintain a positive work environment.
**Warehouse Software**:
- Ensure proper functioning of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Collaborate with WMS support for system maintenance and upgrades.
- Train staff on warehouse software, procedures, processes, and RF scanner systems.
**Safety Compliance**:
- Stay current with safety regulations and ensure compliance with equipment and safety procedures.
- Manage safety building inspections.
- Participate and be an active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
**Warehouse Equipment Maintenance**:
- Develop and Coordinate equipment maintenance contracts for DC and all branches.
- Work with the VP of Operations on yearly budgeting for warehouse equipment.
**Training Programs**:
- Oversee all warehouse training programs.
- Create training materials and ensure safety training.
**Quality Control**:
- Initiate action to prevent quality problems.
- Document quality issues and implement corrective actions.
**Leadership Qualities**:
- Strong, proactive leadership with influential capabilities, fostering trusted relationships across the organization.
- Empower the team to meet challenging yet achievable expectations.
- Possesses business acumen, financial expertise, and strategic experience.
**Driving Results**:
- Highly driven and disciplined with a strong work ethic, and strategic business acumen with a focus on quality assurance metrics.
**Key Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in warehouse operations or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of distribution and warehouse experience.
- 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in a multimillion-dollar organization.
- Strong administration experience is an asset.
- Experience with warehouse management software.
- Strong communication, time management, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and train direct reports.
- Forklift operator and trainer certification is a strong asset.
- Experience with radio frequency scanner systems is a strong asset.
