**Position Description**:
The Drafting Technician will be responsible for preparing layout, assembly, and detail drawings for various Meridian products and custom projects from preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, specification sheets and other data. The Draftsperson will review plans and confer with internal stakeholders to meet project specifications, complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and prepare layout, assembly and detail drawings for Meridian standard and customized products from measurements, sketches and design specifications.
- Organize and maintain a design and CAD digital file for each project.
- Interface with departmental stakeholders to obtain details of equipment and material requirements.
- Collaborate within the engineering and team to improve and/or develop design concepts using CAD or Inventor (computer-aided design), and other traditional design tools.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Ensure documentation of all work, products and relevant activities.
- Revise and update standard Meridian models/drawings.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications and Competencies**:

- University Degree or College Diploma in a mechanical design field, or Grade 12/GED with equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of one year experience in product design role.
- Strong computer skills, specifically experience with Autodesk’s Inventor, Vault and AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in reviewing drawings, and familiar with relevant terminology.
- Agricultural/commercial manufacturing, product experience preferred.
- Strong communication, planning, and team-work skills.
- Highly motivated and self-directed capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and analytical mindset
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
- Possesses a strong work ethic and team attitude.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Excellent organization and project management skills, including the ability to multitask in a fast-paced product development environment.
- Able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Displays manual dexterity to use desktop equipment and peripherals.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
