**Job Purpose**:
Our **Pit Crew** members at Speeders play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of karting events. This position is responsible for efficiently maintaining and servicing go-karts, assisting with charging karts, helping customers with helmet fittings, and conducting seat belt checks. The **Pit Crew** members will also be conducting safety checks between races. The **Pit Crew** members work collaboratively with racers and staff to enhance the overall racing experience, ensuring that all karts are race-ready and that participants have a safe, enjoyable time on the track.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform opening duties to make sure the pit and track area is ready.
- Assist customers safely and efficiently.
- Push up karts if needed.
- Instruct customers on proper kart usage, the meaning of the different flags and how to safely navigate the track.
- Maintain an orderly and speedy flow of racers through the track.
- Supervise ongoing races and enforce race policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Ensure that the pit and track areas remain clean and safe.
- Perform specific facility cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned by management.
- Perform closing duties to secure the pit and track and prepare for the following day’s operation.
- Able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as daily checklists, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Able to speak effectively before groups of customers and respond to questions.
- Must have basic mathematical skills.
