We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a highly skilled Refrigeration Operator / Maintenance Technician to become part of our growing team.

The Refrigeration B Operator has the direct accountability for ensuring the maintenance of facility boilers, chilling units, and HVAC units. They will oversee the maintenance and operations of plants utilities under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintain/Monitor/Check all refrigeration equipment requirements to TSSA Standards.
- Participate in plant equipment repairs/installations on shift.
- Interface with necessary Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective and/or legal requirements
- Maintain accurate records of safe management, operations and maintenance through compliance.
- Improve plant efficiency by reporting on operating conditions of equipment, repair/replace equipment, as necessary.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring the facility is operating in accordance with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA).
- Assist other members of the maintenance team with repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment including conveyors, motors and pumps.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- _**Punctual and Dependable individuals**_
- Previous experience in a meat processing and packaging environment is a definite asset, but not a must.
- The successful applicant will hold a refrigeration B ticket in good standing with the TSSA.
- Experience within a TSSA-regulated Freon facility.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing food processing environment preferred.
- Mechanical abilities and trouble shooting skills are required.
- Practical knowledge of the operation and maintenance of heating and cooling systems is required.
- Previous experience working with SOP's and GMP's is an asset
- The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Works well in a team environment and support fellow team members.
- Highly motivated and able to work well with mínimal supervision.
- Sense of urgency, attention to detail and ownership in quality of work
- Must be able to work flexible time frames.
- Flexibility for periodic Saturday PM work.
- HACCP knowledge and experience an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of OMAFRA, CFIA regulations/requirements
- Should have strong technical skills and be computer literate.
- Experience working in facilities regulated by CFIA and/or OMAFRA in general would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, large HVAC systems, water treatment, refrigeration, mechanical systems, various packaging, and processing equipment
