Research Associate, Bioprinting Innovation

- We are looking for a Research Associate to join the Bioprinting Innovation team, working to develop new approaches using our microfluidic 3D bioprinting technology to develop bioprinted tissue therapeutics. In this hands-on role, you will be working with the team to design and test new bioprinting strategies, taking concepts from ideation through to pre-clinical testing

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**:

- Develop new bioprinting strategies, biomaterials, and tools to enable bioprinting of tissue therapeutics in close collaboration with other R&D team members (biologists, biomaterials scientists, engineers).
- Perform mammalian cell culture, bioink preparation, and other aseptic processes required for printing of bioprinted tissue therapeutics.
- Become an expert user of Aspect’s microfluidic 3D bioprinting technology and develop the ability to troubleshoot experiments and improve processes.
- Create and execute assays to characterize bioprinted constructs, involving techniques such as microscopy, ELISA, rheology, and mechanical testing.
- Maintain rigorous records of experimental procedures and results, prepare reports, and communicate findings to the team.
- Keep abreast of the latest research developments in the field and incorporate findings into research activities.

**WHO YOU ARE**:

- **Education**: MSc (or BSc + experience) in biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, biology, biotechnology, or related discipline.
- ** Cell Culture Experience**: You have experience working with multiple primary or stem cell types.
- ** Biomaterials Experience**: Experience working with hydrogels or other types of biomaterials would be an asset.
- ** Technical Problem Solver**:You have experience working with complex technical equipment and are comfortable troubleshooting and developing new processes.
- ** Detail-Oriented**: You have outstanding attention to detail as well as experimental and process rigour. You take pride in your work and strive for excellence.
- ** Thrive in Ambiguity**: You are highly adaptable, agile, and poised when faced with change, ambiguity, and competing priorities.
