**Purpose of Position**:
The Maintenance Instructor is responsible for the delivery of training for Clients attending theoretical, practical or generic training courses in accordance with the approved syllabi/training program.
**Tasks and Responsibilities**:
- Provide training to FlightSafety International clients in accordance with FlightSafety International’s Professional Instructor Handbook, and other applicable regulation
- Perform Lesson Planning and maintenance of training material(s)
- Make suggestions and recommendations regarding corrections and modifications to courseware with appropriate center personnel
- Maintain Instructor qualification in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop, utilize, maintain and revise lesson plans and Pilot Training publications in accordance with FlightSafety International’s Professional Instructor Handbook when applicable.
- Responsible for the respective training environments dedicated for course delivery
- Conduct training utilizing appropriate equipment while maintaining a high degree of proficiency
- Measure training progress of the Client within the established curriculum
- Report to the PMMT or DOMT any Client training problems
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned program(s) courseware
**Minimum Education**:
- Must be a Canadian citizen or authorized to work in Canada
**Minimum Experience**:
- Five (5) years’ related experience and/or training.
- Minimum of five (5) years as an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) technician, with at least two (2) years’ experience with turbine engines, may be required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience could be in either a civilian or military environment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:
- A&P Technician Certificate may be required.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**:
- Knowledge of aviation maintenance safety standards and practices
- Knowledge of common FlightSafety standards and applicable aviation regulations
- Ability to manage classes and teach effectively
- First-level facilitation skills
- First-level customer service skills
- Ability to be coachable and receive feedback to support development

Must possess physical range of body motion to perform the following:
- Reach and manipulate numerous controls within the Simulator device from the Instructor's chair.
- Enter and exit from the Simulator device via the provided ramp.
- Move between the Instructor station, screen and podium while instructing in the classroom.
- Exit from malfunctioned Simulator while the device is in a severely pitched attitude.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
