Overview:
**The Location**:Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This is a remote position is based in Canada.

**Responsibilities**:
As a
**Principal**
**Data Scientist**, responsibilities include:

- Lead the development of advanced machine learning models to augment offroad autonomy data
- Collaborate with engineers and product teams to implement data-driven solutions into our products
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of data scientists
- Conduct research on cutting-edge techniques and technologies in the field of offroad percetion
- Develop processes for data mining and data analytics.
- Work with task tracking tools such as JIRA and Confluence, updating tasks regularly
- Commnicatewith the larger team to enable other members to make efficient/effective use of the pipeline
- Report out project status to technical leadership as needed

Qualifications:
**Must-Have**:

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field
- 10+ Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field
- Proven experience with data science languages, such as Python, R, SQL, etc
- Familiarity with cloud-based data science environments like AWS, Azure
- Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a technical environment
- Understanding of perception sensor data such as camera, radar, and lidar

- Self-starter
- Able to collaborate with a highly technical team

**Nice-to-Have**:

- PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field
- Experience with using Kubeflow/Kubernetes to build large scale production pipelines
- Experience using generative networks to augment 2D and 3D data
- Experience with networks used to find unlabelled data, such as SAM and visual search engines
- Experience with computer vision algorithms (object detection, object tracking, semantic segmentation, SLAM, Stereo Vision etc.)
- Experience with autonomous driving or ADAS
- Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and scripting
