The Opportunity

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking operational health and safety lead to join our established and growing team in Toronto.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

- Developing, directing, championing and assisting in delivering transformational HSW initiatives.
- In conjunction with the client, developing strategies to ensure transformational HSW initiatives are adopted across all contracts.
- Collaborating and effectively influencing teams to implement and maintain programs, systems, and procedures to achieve cross-functional health and safety transformation.
- Collaborating and advising the client and stakeholders on strategic HSW matters.
- Supporting and driving a dynamic lesson learned and business improvement process for HSW across the program.
- Writing key reports and undertake gap analysis exercises to support transformational objectives.
- Developing training/presentations/briefing packages and delivering them to the appropriate target audiences based on their role/responsibilities within the program.
- Providing support to all the program teams to resolve any HSW concerns.
- Working with and supporting the respective functional leads and managers with the development of risk profiles and strategies for mitigation.

About You

You have health and safety related degree or equivalent. You have experience in large-scale program delivery. You have developing HSW integrated management systems. You have construction delivery experience. You have rail and infrastructure delivery experience. You have technical knowledge and extensive experience in safety systems and construction/railway programs. You have technical knowledge and experience in Safety Systems Management and Auditing (i.e. ISO 45001). You have accident/incident analysis methods expertise. You have experience in developing and embedding health, safety and wellbeing management systems. You have working knowledge of Canada Labour Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, CROR and other relevant federal and provincial/states health and safety legislation. You have working knowledge of OHS policies, standards, legislation and procedures pertaining to the industry. You have knowledge of the regional political, economic, social and security context.

You have time management and task prioritization skills. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated construction teams.
