Are you looking to work in a fast-paced work environment? Are you willing to work night shifts within a strong team of crisis workers? Mobile Crisis is seeking a highly motivated and task oriented individual to fill a casual position as a Crisis Worker. This is a shift work position, and you must be able to work night shifts.

Mobile Crisis Service provides 24-hour crisis intervention services in a wide range of service areas including: child protection, emergency financial services, domestic violence, problem gambling, mental health etc.

Crisis Workers provide direct services on the telephone and in person to situations including child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, suicide and mental health/addiction emergency, financial issues, gambling and other crisis situations.

The team provides crisis intervention, support, assessment and assistance developing follow-up plans to clients in the community who are in crisis. Follow-up may include brief monitoring/support, referral to appropriate community organizations/support networks or collaboration with existing supportive organizations. The team works in collaboration with many other agencies including Police, Social Services, Mental Health Services, and many other Agencies.

**REQUIREMENTS**

**Education/Qualifications**
- A 4-year Bachelor of Social Work or Human Justice Degree from accredited Faculty of Social Work combined with related social work experience.

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of crisis work theories, and crisis intervention and management strategies and practices
- Knowledge of needs and risk assessments, family dynamics, the impact of trauma, psycho-social functioning theories and practices and child protection theories, models and practices
- Understanding of all pertinent legislation, including but not limited to The Child and Family Services Act, The Emergency Protection for Victims of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Act, The Saskatchewan Assistance Act, The Mental Health Services Act, The Youth Criminal Justice Act, The Victims of Domestic Violence Act
- Knowledge of the social, medical and support services available in the community **Other knowledge required includes that which would typically be gained through completion of a Social Work or Human Justice Degree program combined with related social work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience**

**Skills**
- Exemplary verbal, interpersonal, interviewing, analytical, mediation, counseling, conflict resolution, investigation and negotiation skills
- Above average written communication and organizational skills **Basic computer skills ** Other skills required include those that would typically be gained through completion of a Social Work or Human Justice Degree program combined with related social work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

**Abilities**
- Demonstrated mature judgment, and the ability to deal with life threatening situations including the prevention of suicide and other stressful or crisis situations
- Demonstrated sound judgment, particularly in dealing with safety issues and in dealing with aggressive clients and/or clients and children at risk
- Flexible, adaptable and able to work effectively in a variety of settings and in a cross cultural situation **Ability to adhere to all MCS policies and procedures, particularly to the high standards set out in the Code of Values and Professional Ethics and the Code of Business Conduct**:

- This is a shift position and must be able to work all shifts including night shifts to be considered
- Ability to carry out the physical and mental demands of the position
- Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity, and personal wellness.

**Must have excellent interpersonal skills and communication (written/verbal) skills.**

**Self-motivated.**

**Very organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.**
