Field Crop Specialist

**Job Summary**:The Field Crop Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting various aspects of field crop operations, including equipment operations, maintenance, and grain handling. This role requires an individual who exemplifies the company values of humble, driven, and solutions oriented.

**Role and Accountability**:
- Operate agricultural equipment including tractors, combines, and sprayers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, manufacturer guidelines and best agronomic practices.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance to optimize equipment performance and prevent breakdowns.
- Operate highway trucks to haul grain, equipment, chemicals, fertilizers, and supplies ensuring adherence to safety protocols, security of loads regulation, manufacturer guidelines and best operating practices.
- Coordinate equipment usage and task prioritization with supervisors and team members, maintaining accurate records of usage, maintenance, and fuel consumption.
- Operate grain handling equipment such as conveyors, elevators, and augers to handle and store harvested crops efficiently.
- Monitor grain quality during storage and perform maintenance tasks on grain handling equipment to ensure reliability.
- Conduct regular inspections of grain elevator facilities for safety hazards and regulatory compliance.
- Load trailers with grain and other supplies in accordance with highway traffic act weight limitations.
- Maintain records as required to operate an elevator, grain inventory, contract filling, trucking, etc.
- Assist mechanics with preventive maintenance tasks and equipment repairs, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Clear and maintain field edges, ditches, and fence lines to enhance visibility and accessibility for agricultural operations.
- Inspect and repair tile drainage systems to ensure proper water flow and prevent soil saturation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining agricultural equipment.
- Knowledge of grain elevator operations and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to assist with equipment maintenance tasks.
- Skills in field edge cleanup and tile drainage maintenance and repair.
- Familiarity with grain handling processes and safety protocols.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
**Education and Experience**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in agricultural operations preferred.
- Experience with equipment maintenance is an asset.
- Knowledge of tile drainage systems and grain handling equipment is an asset.
- AZ/DZ license.
- Experience with construction/excavation equipment.
Salary $65,000 to $130,000 annually
