**Accredited Supports to the Community** (ASC) is seeking professional and experienced individuals who demonstrate creativity for supporting children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities in group programs.
Operating since 1974, Accredited Supports to the Community (ASC) is a non-profit charitable society that has been providing services across south central Alberta in the areas of Community Disability Services, Healthy Families and Triple P Parenting Programs.
**Community Family Support Workers responsibilities**:
- Plan and implement activities for children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities in a group setting that adheres to ASC's health and safety regulations and requirements.
- Facilitate learning opportunities in a social setting.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of child development and of developmental disabilities.
- Have knowledge & experience to provide support to de-escalate challenging behavioural situations.
- Be compassionate and have the ability to build professional rapport with children and their families.
- Have the flexibility to work scheduled shifts primarily _some_ weekdays, evenings, and Saturday's (Saturday’s and evenings are working with children in the FUNTIMES Program).
- Have a minimum Grade 12 or General Equivalency Diploma. Early Childhood Education, Educational Assistant, Human / Child Services certifications are an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check.
