**The Role**
- Provides guidance and leadership to the Building Service Workers and works closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure that optimal service is provided to the College users. Assists the Facilities Manager in developing new procedures to improve the coordination and client services provided by the Building Services Workers. Provides exceptional client-centered service on a consistent basis to all stakeholder groups.**Responsibilities**

**Coordinates moves, room setups and events.**
a. Works with Director of Facilities and Facilities Services Officer on the coordination of office moves and renovations by providing direction to the Building Service Workers and communicating effectively with stakeholders during the moves;
- c. Advises Facilities Manager of conflicts/problems;
- d. Communicates with Deans, Faculty, Departmental Assistants etc. on issues related to their department.
- **Performs Routine Maintenance**
a.Assists in the coordination of contractor work by coordinating logistics for the job.
- b.Reports equipment or areas requiring servicing and repairs including fire and security hazards to the Facilities Manager. Performs routine maintance and provides minor repairs;
- c. Provides non trades support in construction, electrical and plumbing, advises manager when contract trades are required;
- **Provides Emergency Response**.
- a.Carries master key and monitors communication radio;
- b.Provides first response safety reinforcement, such as fire extinguisher deployment and security assistance;
- c. Expedites emergency evacuation and provides elevator lock out;
- **Coordinates Building Service Workers**
a. Provides leadership and direction to Building Service Workers to ensure efficient utilization of labour and optimized customer service;
- b.Coordinates workflow, prioritizes schedules and assigns duties to Building Service Workers and reviews work for quality, accuracy and completeness;
- c.Coordinates the allocation of work to the Building Services Workers on all shifts by reviewing event plans and the Building Service Workers log of work. Communicates and develops plans together with the Facilities Manager and Facilities team;
- **Performs other related duties.**
a. Provides backup mail and receiver assistance;
- b.Monitors and purchases the supplies required for the department. c. Perform other related duties as assigned**To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need**
- 1. A minimum of two years work experience in a related field.
- 2. Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills including strong written and verbal communication and fluency in the English Language
- 3. A demonstrated ability to:
- interact effectively and tactfully with people of various backgrounds and cultures, including students, college employees and the broader community.
- identify the resources required for events and provide leadership to Building Service Workers, while ensuring customer service.
- use a wide variety of tools and equipment.
- perform physical work related to routine janitorial duties and building maintenance.
- develop new procedures and issue training.
- exercise sound judgment and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

4. Hold a valid B.C. driver’s license.
