**About us**:
YSB offers a variety of Peer Support opportunities within its Community Services program. In promoting youth engagement, Peer Support Workers help facilitate YSB’s Peer to Peer service groups as well as participate in other initiatives that focus on advocating and program creation for youth living in Ottawa.

The Peer Support Worker will work closely with the YSB staff ally to coordinate and facilitate the SPECTRUM program. This is a youth-led position working in partnership with the Downtown Services & Drop-In team to lead and facilitate programming for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.

**What you will do**:

- The incumbent will facilitate our SPECTRUM program once per week at a YSB building alongside youth leaders and YSB staff.
- The peer supporter will work alongside LGBTQ2S+ youth and staff to implement meaningful programming that contributes to inclusion, building safe spaces and developing a peer group for queer and trans youth
- YSB aims to foster and promote identify-affirming in-person spaces by creating workshops and activities for youth aged 16-24
- This position will allow for meaningful contributions from the Queer Youth Action Committee as well as Youth Leaders to ensure that programming is successful
- This position will require data collection to confirm that the program is meeting key performance indicators
- Update social media pages and create visually appealing marketing materials

**This opportunity may be right for you if you have the following**:

- Must be between 16-24 years of age
- Experience facilitating groups or eager to learn
- Availability one or two evenings per week from 4:15 PM-6:30 PM
- Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to LGBTQ2s+ youth
- Preference is given to those identifying as LGBTQ2s+
